Welcome to the Stevia First Corp. Blog
Hello Stevia Followers!
My name is Robert Brooke and I’m the CEO of Stevia First Corp. and I’d like to welcome you to our inaugural posting for our CEO Blog. Regardless of whether you are a shareholder, consumer, business partner, employee, or anyone else interested in learning more about stevia, healthy foods, or our company, we hope to inform, educate and provide insights into what we are doing in this exciting market.
When many sources of information regarding public companies are biased, then reliability and subjectivity becomes questionable. Of course there are more professional sources of information, but expensive market research reports are exactly that… expensive. It is our hope you’ll find this outlet refreshing in that the information is coming to you directly. As someone who strongly believes in his team and his company’s mission, obviously some bias still exists, but I will make best efforts to remain objective!
In my experience as a biotechnology entrepreneur and a (recovering) finance professional, it is very rare that a product generates as much interest and excitement with consumers as I’ve seen recently with stevia. Diabetics and early-adopters who have raved about it for over a decade, with the 2008 regulatory approval in the U.S., are grateful that it’s finally being incorporated into some mainstream foods and beverages. Others may have only heard of stevia recently, but, with health concerns related to overconsumption and artificial sweeteners front-and-center in their minds, stevia as a zero-calorie natural sweetener has instant appeal. As with any market where demand is large and growing, supply must be met somehow, and so the business case and opportunity is equally compelling and obvious.
My own pursuits are driven mostly by an active personal interest in health-related issues, especially ones that are related to optimal health, aging research, and regenerative medicine. So having the opportunity to help pioneer the development of stevia products and related technologies is a rewarding experience that simply increases my motivation and enthusiasm.
In future postings I look forward to sharing insights learned with you along the way, and hope you’ll enjoy them and even let us know some of your thoughts on the sector and your interests. Thanks for reading this, and please stay tuned for more!
