Welcome! It’s a great pleasure to host you here at the beginning of what I hope will be a long term, valuable communication channel to both the exciting evolution of the mobile industry, and our growth here at Mobivity.
Founded in 2006, Mobivity’s mission has been to be an innovator in cutting edge technology that connects markets to consumer’s mobile devices. Consumers are spending less time with computers, televisions, radio, and other channels, and more time on their mobile devices. Specifically, Mobivity is focused on breaking into a $130B market; the massive Local Advertising industry where businesses are continuing to utilize legacy local marketing channels such as yellow page directories, local radio, local TV, and local print advertising. Our goal is to leverage our patented technology that powers our Software-as-a-Service (Saas) product to connect local consumers to their favorite local businesses via their mobile phones. Since entering the public markets in late 2010, Mobivity has grown through three acquisitions, executed organic revenue growth, added two more patents to its IP portfolio, and is on track to achieve at least 65% growth over 2011 revenues. From local restaurants, to hair salons, to major sports franchises, Mobivity is quickly pursuing the millions of businesses that could immediately benefit by connecting to their customers’ mobile phones.
We’re not the only ones who see Local and Mobile as “the next big thing”. The following articles provide other views from around the market showing how the Local Ad market seems largely untapped, and that mobile is seen as a meaningful facilitator in its evolution.
After dominating online national advertising for the last decade, Google seems to validate the untapped Local Ad market in the following WSJ story:
Google Executive Says Local Advertising Is Top Focus (WSJ)
The following Ad Age article comments on how Facebook is also pursuing this opportunity along with the advantages the Local and Mobile Ad markets have over traditional online advertising:
Mobile, Local are Key Factors in Facebook’s Post-IPO Revenue Growth (Ad Age)
Our goal is to capitalize on this growing trend and leverage our 5,000 plus Local Advertiser locations, coupled with our patented technology, to stake out a leadership position as this market unfolds.
2012 is shaping up to be a banner year for us including the recent announcements of several new sports franchise customers including:
• a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers
• a three-year contract with the Tampa Bay Times Arena, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Tampa Bay Storm
• a two-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers
My goal for this blog will be to keep you updated on Mobivity’s progress, while keeping you abreast of developments within our industry. With mobile devices quickly becoming the most ubiquitous consumer device in the history of mankind, it’s sure to be a very exciting journey and we’re very excited that you’ve paid us a visit to track our progress. I certainly hope you’ll stay tuned!
